Okay everyone, the fax appears to be working now, this is what I did: I
turned off the UAC completely, because I don't know what it means to elevate
my settings. I deleted the modem from device manager. I have two Admin
accounts set up, and I had to go back to the original Admin account (couldn't
do it from the new Admin account for some reason - I thought Admin privileges
let you do anything system related) to let Vista find the modem again and
reinstall a driver. After the driver was installed, I opened Fax & Scan and
fixed the settings to send and receive. Then I went back to my new Admin
accoutn and used one of the free online fax services to send a fax to the my
PC and it worked. Hooray! Thank you for your help. Now if I could only get
my Epson 1200U to work on Vista Ultimate...everything would be great!
