LaserJet 1200 printer installed but not scanner

I have a Laserjet 1200 printer with the scanner attachmet. I plugged it into
a USB port on my Windows Vista Home Premium PC and Vista installed the
printer driver and prints fine. However, it does not see it as a scanner.
Is there a way to install the scanner drivers?

Check the model number of the printer, the LaserJet 1200 appears to be
purely a printer, according to the HP website:

I am having the same issue. The HP LaserJet 1200 is the correct model
number for the printer only. When the scanner is attached it becomes
the HP LaserJet 1220. If you find a solution, please post it.
