Re: Add network printer problem
Are you on a managed (active directory) network or not? There are some
known issues in the location code that runs when the wizard does the Active
Directory search.
To test this you could set the "Number of directory printers" to 0 for the
"Add Printer wizard - Network scan page (Managed Network)" policy. To
adjust the policy, fire up gpedit & go to "Local Computer Policy \ Computer
Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Printers".
The known issues with this location bug depends on some specific AD settings
which we can go into if you can confirm that this is the problem. We
currently have a fix for said problem in our SP1 builds, so there is a long
term solution. Let me know if the above makes a difference & hopefully we
can find a short term one as well.
