Scanner software cannot find driver

I have down loaded the driver for my Canon D1250U2 scanner which now resides
in my Downloads folder.
When I try and install the associated software I am informed that the
scanner driver(Twain driver) is not installed.
Can you tell me where the software will be looking for it or how I can
direct the software to it please.

I had the same problem with a BenQ 640U. I tried to install it using the XP
bottle that is under the Compatibility tab when you right click the app, but
with no success. It may work for you.

Have you tried double-clicking the file residing in your Downloads folder?
