Thanks Cari, Russ, Hal,
I can appreciate your frustration, but if you put yourself in a position
where you are trying to help others, (really doesn't matter where) patience
is something that you need to have plenty of. In my original post, I may
have been vague, but also just spent the last 10 hours upgrading to Vista
Premium using Dell supplied upgrade materials, going through issues with
bluetooth, my wireless card, sound drivers, and all kinds of other issues. I
still have a few that I'm working out. I posted here hoping someone could
shed some light on the situation and I got:
"Please post a more complete and coherent question. You have posted a maze of
operating systems and fax services no one could possibly decipher. Nicely
done." (or in other words.... )
From Russ. In my original post I mention microsoft fax (no others) upgrade
from windows media center 2005 to vista premium (nothing else). I can't
fathom what spurred his rude response, other than his pride and anger,
neither of which I'm responsible for. I apologize for my response to him,
but I wasn't expecting to be responded to in such a way.
Your right, I have an MSDN subscription, however, didn't want to upgrade to
a temporary Vista license just for the fax stuff. I understand the problem
now and have taken steps to repair it. (I bought Vista Ultimate...got some
other goodies along with the fax support). I hope that in the future, You
and Russ and anyone else put in a position to respond to us "novice" Vista
users, can do so with a little more patience and understanding.
