That link is not on Windows Update -- it is clearly on the HP website
even if Windows Update points to it. Have you checked what Windows
update says and whether the driver is dated after January 2007?
And if you follow that link it just tells you how to install the driver
that comes "in the box" which is probably why it fails since it is
already there .....
In other words, as others say, don't believe everything that Windows
Update suggests for third party hardware. Time and again I've seen them
suggest installing an update for my video card and if I check the
manufacturer they do not have one more uptodate than the one I have.
You will also note that Microsoft's Windows Update never gives any
useful information about the driver version number they suggest.
