Go to the Epson Website and download the 5.71A Twain drivers. Double click
on the file as to install. It will fail. Then...go to the directory where
the files were extracted. Right click on the Setup file...choose Windows XP
compatibility and install. The scanner WILL work in Vista. I have the 1660
that uses the same Twain drivers and have been using it since day 1.

Epson US may say that they're not going to support the 1240 on Vista, but
Epson Europe has posted a vista driver for the perfection 1240 scanner that
actually works!
