Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
If I had wanted to manually print two-sided, I wouldn't have bought the
duplexer - which worked before I started using Vista. I can't afford a new
printer, so WHEN will a WORKING patch be available? The 6500 driver is no
help is solving the upside down back page!

As Mr. Morris told you, this is up to HP. They are the ones who write the
drivers for their hardware and *no one* else. I understand that you are
frustrated and irritated, but you should be focusing that frustration and
irritation where it belongs: on HP. Contact them.

Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
Mr. Morris,
Mr. Morris,
I read your very helpful thread on the Microsoft web-site. Vista is great,
but I'm looking forward to my printer working properly. I have the HP
Officejet All-in-One 7310. Currently, the duplex-printing is erratic at best.
Could you please send me the fix?
Thank you and Best Regards,
Jessica

Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
Mr. Morris,
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I shall email you
about the 7310. I have this as your email address:
alanmo@online.microsoft.com
And it doesn't seem to work. Is there a better email?
Thank you again, you've saved my next meetings!

Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
Dear Alan,
Really are you sending correct printer drivers to others ?
I have the same issue with my printer HP Photosmart 6280 -- duplex printing
does not work too ... If you could help me then it will be appreciated .
But where it is not working (please find below my findings):
- System: MS Vista 32/64, MS Office 2003/2007
- Printing from:
A-Adobe Acrobat -- OK - (but use as PrintProcessor: WinPrint [Printer
properties/Advanced/...])
B-Internet Explorer - OK (not tested dependency on PrintProcesor usage)
C-MS Office - NOT OK - allways !
So, I am starting to think that it could be something related to MS Office...
The message just after push Print button looks like: Module for duplex
printing is not installed (...)
Q1. If you have correct driver for HP Photosmart 6280 then please provide
me it (Vista_x32 and Vista_x64)?
(may be it is good idea to add these drivers to the standard Windows
software(...))
Q2. What is your opinion according to these new facts ?
Q3. If a lot of users have similar problem then do you have some info that
this issue was localized and it is going to be solved ?
Q4. Anybody has some news about the issue and the final solution - it seems
that it is already a long term issue or was it already solved ?
Regards, Xolek

Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
I have a text based change to the GPD file (modified by an HP driver
developer) that works on 32 and 64 bit systems.
The only files I have are for the drivers that ship in Vista. The updated
drivers need to be distributed by HP. No new drivers will be added to
Windows until the next release.
HP promised me that they were releasing the drivers with all the fixes. I
registered at HP.com 2 months ago even though I don't have any of the
devices for the faulty drivers but have never gotten an email stating new
drivers available.

Re: Duplex printing bug head to toe - HP printer
Thank you Alan,
nothing more than wait for HP.
I have found some kind of havy work arround: set the printer driver to
"direct printing (Print directly to the printer)" then it works but of course
without spooling (slow).
