Must turn firewall off to print
I have an HP 7400 network printer attached to my desktop running Vista
Ultimate RC1. If I want to print from another computer to that printer, I have to turn the firewall off on the desktop. In other words, other computers can not see my desktop or the printer attached to it without turing the firewall offg. Any help? |
Re: Must turn firewall off to print
1. in Network and Sharing Center, turn on "Network discovery" and "Printer
Sharing" 2. Control Panel, Windows Firewall, select the "Exceptions" tab Make sure there is a check mark in at least "Core Networking", "File and Printer Sharing" and "Network Discovery" -- Bruce Sanderson MVP Printing http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
