Printing documents with fax and scan

I made the mistake of buying a new computer with vista so my HP laserjet 3390
scanner driver is useless and I'm forced to scan documents only to jpg or tif
files rather than pdf files.

The problem is that I can't open them in anything other than Windows stupid
useless photo gallery or picture software. When I try to print documents two
problems arise. First, they come out black. Second, I can't print a single
page. I have to print the whole document.

When I still had XP I was able to open and print tif documents so you could
read them. What am I doing wrong?

Here is what I did when I received a scan documents in my email and I could not print this when the docs. is in photo Gallery. (Windows Vista)
First, Saved this on my desktop for easy access. Remember, it doesn't matter if the font size is too big when you open the files
2nd, Open with Paint, the go to File>in Page Set Up, uncheck both the Horizontal & Vertical in Centering
3rd, Change the Margins into .1 all four, the left, top,right & bottom (to use all spaces.)
Now, you can Print Preview,
Then Print.
