Printing error

I am trying to print on an HP Laserjet 5

Printing happens intermittently. Sometimes it prints just fine. Other
times, the status for the job in Vista's print queue is "Error - Printing".

I can delete the job (but I have to delete it twice). If I reboot the
machine, the job in the queue will print properly immediately upon rebotting.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?

is this device connected to the network, shared from another machine, or
connected to LPT?
