Rebooting computer to print

I have to reboot my computer laptop all of the time if I want to print
anything from my Dell 946 printer to Windows Vista Basic . If I don't turn
my computer off and on my print jobs just spool forever. Does anyone have
any suggestions?

I cannot help but I am having the same problem with Vista home premium and a
toshiba laptop with HP c6180 wireless printer. If you can find any help I
would appreciate if you would send it my way.
