Backup error 0x80070002

I did 2 files backup and everything went very well. Suddenly I get error
message 0x80070002 cannot find file. Any straight forward help or suggestion?

Cannot tell exactly what happened but did the following and everything
worked just fine:
Delete a bak entry in the registry (windows profile)
Renamed my external hard disk (where all my backups are)
Tried files backup and ..... IT WORKS.
