system restore stopped working

error states that shadow copy failure system restore won't start, just
produces a failure message. anyone know what files to reinstall? happened
before trying to install new vista updates. deleting updates doesn't help.
was also trying to go online with halo 2, just to see if it works. didn't.

only solution was to reinstall. went without problems. now on a single
boot drive i'll see how long it lasts. my dual boot lasted 3 months.
