Explorer.EXE and CPU
I have an emachines W3263 with Windows Vista. I have had it for about a
month. There have been several instances where it was running hard. I went
to Task Manager which show my Explorer.EXE is running at about 50% CPU. No
other process runs any where near that. Is this normal or have I found the
cause of being warned about CPU usage?

I'm still learning the ins and outs so please keep it simple. I don't
understand half of some of the questions.

Re: Explorer.EXE and CPU
Hi BB,

It can indicate a normal system, or an abnormal one. You need more
information to tell if this is normal or not, and this tool here may help
you get that:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys...sExplorer.mspx

Report back with exactly what process is causing the activity.

RE: Explorer.EXE and CPU
Hi, Rick

I downloaded the process explorer, but right now my computer is acting very
nicely. The process explorer seem easier to read than the task manager. I'm
learning as I am going, so I really don't what I am doing sometimes.

The reason I was concerned about my computer is becuase it runs very hard
and even sounds like it is straining. I'll post back when it does it again.

Thanks
