Set Association

New to the forums~ Hope this is good enough explanation..

I've had my external harddrive for about a year now and had never had
problems with it and vista..
A few days ago I turned both on but when I tried accessing my external
harddive (J:\) I get this message..

J:\

This file does not have a program associated with it for performing
this action. Create an association in the Set Association control panel.

I went to the control panel, but was at a complete loss as to what to
do..
