You are probably backing up to the Recovery partition, which was created by
your OEM and is not big enough to store regular backups. Try doing your
backups again to another partition or hard disk or to CD or DVD. Then delete
the existing backups on your D drive.
If you don't have an external USB hard disk, I highly recommend one. They're
great for doing backups.
