lose internet connection on computer wake up

helllo

I am running vista 64 ultimate and using netgear router connected by rj45
cable, on DSL internet connection. i leave computer running all the time,
but everytime i wake up computer it drops the internect connection with the
router. this does not happen with the other computer that is also linked
with the router by a cable that is using XP.

any body offer any suggestions?

You have to change the power management settings of the network card and
allow Windows to turn off the card to save power. Then Windows knows to wake
the card and reestablish the connection. I know this goes against usual
practice, but it works with Vista.
