File I/O Performance

Is there anything that can be done to speed up the file processes -
Move, Copy, Delete. They take about twice as much time as they did on
XP64. Its like Vista is thinking about what to do - its painful. This is
after upgrading to a Quad processor, a 10K Raptor drive, and 4GB of RAM.


Don't even get me started on that calculating time remaining - is there
a way to shut this off, when i hit delete I want it straight in the
recycle bin, don't worry about anything extra.

Vista64 has really slowed down my work as I deal with a lot of files.

This too is my last remaining gripe with Vista. Well obviously there are
other annoyances, but this is the last that regularly annoys me.
