Out of the multitude of undesired changes they wrought; TWO must be corrected.
.. 1] The Dsktop shrtcut ICONS; the majority have been changed to a
.. common one ... making them useless!, and
.. 2] When clkng those icons; the Error: Runtime Error, (w/no err code).

Perhaps your cleaner made undo files. Read the help.

Run System Restore if you remember when it started.
