internet has stopped working(Problem signature)

Hello,

My name is shawn
This is my first time posting on Windows Vista Forum, the problems
below are from my explore 7 (your internet has stopped working) and me?.
To further the problem Dell's warrenty has expired and can not afford
software $$$ that
promises to fix it today.

I would like to get some knowledge on how and where I would
be able to fix the below problem. Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated.

Hi,

Start/search line, type "internet explorer". One of the menu entries will be
to start it with no addons. Try this mode, see if the problem still exists.
If not, then click tools/manage addons/enable or disable and begin disabling
those that load when IE loads.

check if you have "limited" connectivity due to ipv6 problems

go in your networksettings properties
disable ipv6
disable iphelper

Disable the IP Helper service:

1. Hold the Windows key and type R, enter "services.msc" (without the
quotes) and press Enter
2. Scroll down to the IP Helper service, right click on it and select
Properties
3. In the dropdown box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to
Disabled and then click on "Apply"
4. Then click on "Stop" to stop the service from running in the
current session
5. Click OK to exit the dialog



Disable IPv6:

1. Hold the Windows key and type R, enter "ncpa.cpl" (without the
quotes) and press Enter
2. Right click on each network connection and select "Properties"
3. Remove the checkmark from the box next to "Internet Protocol
Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
4. Click OK to exit the dialog

NOTE: You should do this for each network connection.
