Performance monitor not able to add any counters

Hi

When i am start the performance monitor window for MS-Vista and when
trying to add counters ,the "ADD Counters" page ,none of the
performance counters are displayed.

Kindly let me know if there is any specific service i need to start .

Also ,previously it was possible to add counters in the performance
monitor window and now none of the counters are displayed.
