Ok people I know dumb question but please expand my knowledge
Ok people I know dumb question but please expand my knowledge
So Here it is because I couldn't find a description in the windows help
files. How do I find out what the cached memory is for and why it is so
high? It doesn't feel right that I should have less than 200 "free".
check my specs for computer info and let me know if I need to include
anymore info, which I'm sure I will. Thanks.
Re: Ok people I know dumb question but please expand my knowledge
Hello Squa,
The cached memory is what is being used by '*Superfetch*'
It makes use of your available RAM by loading what it thinks you need
into memory to help it load faster when you need it. If you do not need
this data, then it will dump it automatically when it needs to load
something else. It is recommended to leave Superfetch enabled for the
best performance. As they say, idle RAM is wasted RAM. You will always
have all of your RAM available when needed for something else though.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
