System restore trashes drive.
Microsoft blew it on the allocation of disk space for
system restore. The restore function seems to throw the data
all over the drive, causing the defragger to be unable to
adequately defrag the system files.

I use perfectdisk pro 2008, and the map of the drive told
me everything on this. The restore data (black on the PD
map) is mostly in one 3 row band on the map, but
blocks/chunks seem to appear all over the drive (even in
with the installed files (green, blue, yellow and red). I
have turned off SR for now, and will replace it with a
regular backup - looking at NovaBackup.
