Speed up Excell 2003 on what version of Vista?

I'm running a large 250 mb spreadsheet on Excel 2003 and it runs slow. I have
a duo
processor with 4gigs of ram. Have Window Vista Home Premium v6. Is there a
better Vista OS that would make my duo processor run Excel 2003?

I do not believe Excel 2003 supports dual core cpu's, it still uses
only one.
