Help vista desktop bootup problem

i have a dell inspron 1525 running home vista premium.

heres the problem i have it worked elier but i closed it and fell
asleep when i woke up i noticed it was unplugged so i plugged it back in
when i booted it back up i get to the desktop when all the start up
programs load up i get my trend micro booted up ether the start up bar
keeps locking up or the desktop keeps locking up and nothing else loads
just sits there i have shut down rebooted in start mode and restarted it
from there and still no luck any help would be appericated.

also forgot to add this in to the problem i sometimes when i get to the
desktop it boots up and i get the dreadful blue screen
