Out of focus background

Why is it all of the sudden anything I choose as a desktop background is
enlarged and out of focus? Not just images I've downloaded, but the "stock"
backgrounds offered by Windows. I'm getting close-ups on both. I've tried
re-sizing them but no soap. I haven't changed any resolution settings either.
What gives?

Try selecting "Fit to Screen" at the bottom of the Desktop Background
application.

Hi.

I was having the same problem.Think have found a solution
Make sure that resolution of your image is 1024x768.
To do this simply
1) open your image in Microsoft Office Picture Manager
2) click edit pictures
3) click resize
4) select the option "predefined width and height"
5) choose "Document large (1024x768)" as the image size
6) save the changes and then try to set as desktop background.

it worked for me and hope it works for others having the same prob!
