Need to reinstall Vista

Hi. My Vista OS was preinstalled on my laptop. I made the mistake of not
making an initial copy of the OS on CDs, but I'm told I can reinstall a
default copy from a hidden partition. How do I actually do this? What's it
called?

You *may* be able to do this. It depends on your vendor and how they
configured your computer. In other words, this is not a Windows Vista
feature, but one supplied by some vendors.

Contact your vendor (or your manual, if you have one) for more
information.

Hi Paul
Could you go to the following link and you will find necessary information,
and as I do not know your laptop's make you have to do some enquiries from
your laptop manufacturer as well.HTH.

Paul, as Ken suggested contact the vendor/manual and see if you have a
partition called System Recovery. If you do not order a set of recovery
discs and follow the instructions to restore your computer back to
factory condition. In other words just as the day you bought it. This
will reinstall Windows operating systems files, software programs
originally included on your computer frpm the factory, and software
drivers. You will then have to install any programs etc. that you have
added, ie antivirus, photos etc.
