problem creating recovery disc
I have tried a few occasions to create the recovery disc as instructed in
manual and to no avail I am getting error message that it is unable to write
to the disc. Has anyone else had this problem. I have also gotten a message
constantly popping up about low disk space on "D" drive. I just purchase this
computer a couple weeks ago and not sure if it is a Vista issue or the
computer itself any help or info appreciated. thanks

RE: problem creating recovery disc
I am having a similar problem. I was able to create my recovery disk with no
problem, but every time I sign on to the computer it tells me I have "Low
Disk Space on recovery disk (D" So I say OK let's clean it up and it takes
me to the recycle bin, which is already empty! Hello?????????? I sure hope
someone jumps in here soon with some advice.
Here's sending some Florida Sunshine your way.

RE: problem creating recovery disc
I was able to make recovery disks using CD's. I did speak to a couple people
about the "Low disk space" issue they say that isn't an issue just an
annoyance. Where as we don't use (D). Until they come up with a solution will
just deal with it.

Re: problem creating recovery disc

Not sure I had exactly the same problem - but it was similar.
When I tried to create my recovery disks (brand new pre-installed
laptop) I got a disk write error at the end writing to both disks. As
I had a flew DVD+R blanks and wanted the recovery disks for safety, I
just blundered on, so when it said it had an error writing the desk, I
threw it away and put in another one. I wasted 4 DVD+Rs to get my 2
recovery disks, which is verified successfully. (2 from 6 in total).

RE: problem creating recovery disc
I am very new to computers etc.- I don't understand most of the terminology.
I can not create my back-up- the Vista Program, yes, my computer no. Says I
don't have enough disc space. I did not put DVD or CD' in when I tried to
back-up because I was never prompted to! Keep getting the low disc space
message. Don't know what to do. HP tech assist. was no help at all!! Can
someone here help.

Re: problem creating recovery disc
I seem to be having the same problem. The recover files quit about 75% into
the verification. I have a total of 3.89gb on the first disk w/ a little more
than 4mb of free spaceleft. There are a hellofalot of files on it. Are 3.89gb
the amount of memory to be expected on that first disc. The computer mfr.
made it a major issue, when that is all I wanted to know.
