Preparing to Recycle - Calculating
I have occasion to clean out a large number of folders, I do this by
searching through them by file type. The search will return x number of
files of type a, b, and c. Where x may be a few thousand files. I then
select all from the search return window and delete. The "Preparing to
Recycle" window pops up and begine "Calculating". This often takes over a
half an hour. I'm at 23 minutes right now.
I thought SP1 might take care of this but no. I have a dual core 2.8 GHz
AMD X2 with 4 Gb of RAM. It's not like I have a slow machine and high have
a core usage monitor running in the sidebar. During the calculating process
both cores are running around 60%, so the machine definitely is calculating,
I don't know what or why.
This has nothing to do with files on a network, this is deleting files on a
local disk, the problem is the same with the index off or on.
