Setting process priority on applications that require Run as Admin

I switched a couple of months back from XP to vista, and have been having
issues with not being able to get some applications up into Above Normal or
High priority mode. These applications require the Run as Administrator
setting to work correctly, but whenever I try to increase there priority I
get the error:
The operation could not be completed.

Access is denied.

My account is an administrator account, and I've spent 6 or 7 hours
searching for a fix to this.
Please help me

How are you trying to change their priorities?
You can try running task manager as administrator:

1. Type "task manager" (without the quotes) in the search box from the start
button
2. When it shows up in the list right click on it and choose run as
administrator
3. Choose continue of the UAC Prompt
4. Find the application from the process list
5. Change it's priority
