Window Explorer shutdown

I can see that a number of other users are having this problem with new Vista
computors. My Windows Fault reporting offers me a patch and then when I try
to download it informs me that its not suitable. Has anyone had any clear
information from Microsoft after all it is their programme thats
malfunctioning?
