Re: Reinstall/Repair?

I ran sfc /scannow in safe mode but it didn't get much better. I then
ran chkdsk/f which started after a reboot. Rebooted again after
complete. After that did a tuneup with Windows OneCare to clear up the
debris.
Computer now runs faster with less disk thrash but there's still a
continuous slow write going on in the background. It never really
stops. What are the changes of it being related to indexing? File or
media sharing on the local private subnet? Is there something I can
adjust to minimize or eliminate this disk writing? It's driving me
batty but at least I don't get screen freezes.
I think I'm still going to do a complete rebuild sometime. At least
now I can plan it rather than be forced to spend this weekend doing
it. Perhaps will wait until after SP1 is GA, then do a reinstall of
Vista and apply SP1 on top of a clean install with no apps.
