Files reshuffled on desktop when Vista is upgraded

My desktop files always get reorganized when Vista is upgraded. My files are
organized a certain way on my desktop, when Vista is upgraded, they all get
aligned to the left of the screen.

Is there a way to correct this? Also, is there a way to fix this for a duo
monitor as well?
