Be more specific? E.g., if you did a manual download of an update
and a manual install that would be independent of both WU and AU.
A place you presumably could check it would be in Add/Remove Programs.
Unfortunately the KB article does not give any hints about how to check
for it having been successfully installed. Since it is neither a security patch
nor a hotfix I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be tested by either MBSA
or qfecheck.exe (for example). Also, I don't have Vista myself so you
would need to find someone else who had installed the update successfully
to get any specific hints about checking for a complete and correct install.
Otherwise I imagine you could try looking for the update's install log and
look in it or inspect the Event log and see if the update is mentioned in it.
Etc.
Cross-posting to a Vista specific newsgroup in case someone
who has installed the update cares to comment or help you further.

Did you install it via WU or not? ; )
