Superfetch service, memory hog
hi,
Ok im not sure what to make of this because of what iv read when
googling, basicly my understanding of this service (Superfetch) is that
it will use most of your memory at system boot but then release it all
once the system is started (correct me if im wrong)
now my problem is, when on the 32bit version of vista it the svchost
running this service the process runs on about 40,000 K after boot.
which, if you ask me is normal. But on my vista 64 box this process runs
on about 110,000 K after boot, which dose not lower after its been
running a while. Now when i stop this service the memory usage drops by
around 78,000 K which is a lot of memory for one service.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal for vista 64, and if its not give
me any ideas why its so high? (im not after a step-by-step, just some
ideas)
Thanks,
Philly
