!!!NEW BAD WINDOWS VISTA UPDATES: KB941644 & KB905688 + KB929777
*I have Windows Vista update software set for me to be able to review the
incoming updates (afraid of re-installing beta Service Pack 1 on this
primary computer hard drive)
*I have a password set in the Bios--so startup sequence hangs at Bios until
password entered
Today, installed the above-mentioned first two Windows updates.
Functionality of Finale 2008a software immediately affected.
Had immediate problems with restarting computer. Restart would get through
Bios password intitiation, briefly showed the Windows start up screen, flash
of terminal blue screen, to a new restart by machine. To get past this, I
did a soft shutdown of machine using OFF button.
On startup could get through routine to Bios, then selective startup screen,
started Windows normally, to Windows password sequence, to dektop startup.
Uninstalled KB 941644 first. Encountered same problems mentioned above.
After complete shutdown and startup, unistalled KB905866, encountered same
problems through Bios passwork inititation, selective start up screen,
started windows normally, noticed computer reconfiguring unistallation
(without it having displayed any information), through Windows startup
screen, password entered, normal desktop recovered.
Continuing problems with installing KB92977. Please pull this Windows Update
from being published.
Believe that KB905866 is the bad update due to problems maninfesting
subsequent to unistallation of KB941644 today.
