Folder view settings reseting all the time

Hello,

I must admit that i'm pretty sick and tired of Windows and their crappy
behavior. First, i'm an administrator so i know what i'm doing with my
computer and what i want from it.
Even since Win XP i've been experiencing this bug in explorer that is
reseting folder view setting from time to time. None of the bunch of tweaks
that i tried ever worked so let's cut to the point. This arrogant behavior of
MS is really repulsive. Why?
Well, after Vista was presented i hoped that this bug (and many many other
ones) is going to be resolved. But no. They said that most of the programs
are new, but it was a hidious lie. They just copy-pastead all of the crap
from XP to Vista, with a new skin.
A few days ago, i installed Vista SP1 RC and ta-daaaam - the bug is still
there!
Who are they kidding?!
I also run Debian Linux (Gnome) on my system, and when you set it to
remember folder view setting - it just remembers it!
None of the writing to MS ever helped so i want to know sth - are those
people there retarded?
