explorer.exe Crashing and Restarting

I've had Vista since June, and this just started happening this month.
Explorer.exe will crash and then restart almost without fail whenever I open
a folder, no matter what folder it is. After it crashes and restarts, I can
freely navigate through the folder for a little while, but eventually this
will happen again. Whatever folders I have open will close and occasionally
the icons on my desktop get all jumbled up. Sometimes this happens even when
I'm not doing anything with explorer.exe, like when I'm playing a game, and
sometimes explorer.exe simply crashes and doesn't restart, and I have to
restart it manually. I have no idea what might be causing it, and I've
downloaded several hotfixes to try to fix it, please help!
