Performance Options without Administrator Rights
I'm working with Windows Vista at the moment. Users will mostly not have
administrator rights. We've got some fairly well specified kit, but also
some older kit that we have to support under Vista.
You can increase performance by going to
Control Panel\System and Maintenance\System
Advanced System Settings
System Properties dialogue box
Performance - Performance Options
Performance: Adjust for best performance
However, this is only available to users with administrative rights.
Windows XP didn't have this requirement.
Is there any way for ordinary users to be able to do this?
For example, is there a rundll32 command I can run that will set this?
The changes this makes are all over the registry and by no means
straightforward to duplicate using, for example, .REG or .INF files.
