Restore Point files go missing
Hi, I am runnin gunder Vista and I have created Systrm Restore checkpoint
files on C and D drives. These show up on the System Protection screen.
However the files just vanish from time to time - i.e. the system protection
screen shows "None" again the C drive.
Any idea what casues this to happen?

Thanks
B

I'm not even close to what you might consider knowledgeable about this, but
I believe this is a "known issue." See here:

Re: Restore Point files go missing
Hi,

no I am not dual booting and the only defrag software I use very
occasionally is DiskKeeper, but they go missing even if I dont run that and
on the last occasion just from the C drive and left the D drive in place.

Any help gratefully received

Actually the restore points are deleted when you boot into XP. This is a
well known issue. To prevent this use Bitlocker on the Vista partition or
use a 3rd party boot manager to hide the Vista partitions from XP.

Re: Restore Point files go missing
Any recommendations for 3rd party boot manager and how to use it to save the
restore points?

Sorry I don't use one so I can't recommend anything in particular for Vista.
