ExtractVersionResource16W could not be located in Shell32.dll

Hi I am getting the following error message when running certain programs on
Vista.

"The procedure entry point ExtractVersionResource16W could not be located in
the dynamic link library SHELL32.DLL"

What could possibily wrong with?

What programs are giving you this error? Have you checked with the makers
of the programs that they are compatible with Vista?

Hi Jane,

This is a Win32 application written in visual c++ 6.I found the same error
message when trying to run the setup.exe, which used fo loading the bootstrap
file of Vb run time.

Hi Jane

The error can be reproduced by running the the following aplication

"drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Setup\1033\setup.exe"
from visual studio 6

Many such programms display this error
