Can not backup to a folder

I'm doing a backup to a USB drive and can not select a folder on the USB
drive to hold the backup. Only the root of each drive on my system appear in
the dropdown and when the rppt is selected there's no way to navigate to a
folder.

What is your usb drive (harddisk, backup tape etc.) ???

It is a 380GB Hard disk.

This is by design. We control the directory structure
(machine\backupset\backup).
This is so we have predictable place for the backups, both for the users to
look at and us when doing restore from a foreign machine.
