repairing and extracting rar files
75% of the time I try to repair or extract rar files, my computer crashes and
resets. I've removed and reinstalled winrar, quickpar and rarslave...but it
keeps happening.
I was thinking of reinstalling Vista, but my computer was built for me with
a SATA array and don't want to mess anything up.
Any suggestions?

Re: repairing and extracting rar files
Are the programs you're using Vista compatible?
Spontaneous reboots may be caused by either software or hardware problems.
Check eventvwr for any relevant error messages. Also turn off automatic
restart - Control Panel / System / Advanced / Startup and Recovery / System
Failure - Uncheck automatically restart. This will cause Windows to crash
with an error message rather restarting if it is software issue. The
content of the blue screen message will help identify the problem.
