Windows Media Player 11 Crashes

I am running Vista x64 Ultimate with Windows Media Player 11. After a
fresh reboot or after starting up the computer for the first time that
day, Windows Media Player almost always crashes. It usually crashes
soon after the "loading circle" disappears.

On occasion, but not as often, WMP will crash randomly while playing
music.

I always search for a solution to the problem, but one is never found.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

What error message are you getting? I may be having the same problem but
without the error message, hard to tell.
I continuously get Bad_Pool_Header error when using WMP 11
