Vista Disk Defragmenter message 'Next sheduled run: never'

I get this message when I schedule the disk defragmenter. Shouldnt it tell
you when the task is scheduled?

I had (have) the same problem on my computer (Toshiba Satellite A300). The problem was initally casued by installing NOrton 360 which took over control of the disk defrag. did not matter how many times I checked or uncheked the run on schedule box as soom as you opened disk defrag it reveted to "Next Scheduld Run: NEVER". I uninstalled NOrtans and reqined functionality - reinstalled Nortons - lost functionality - then my computer crashed (ATI Grafics card issue) took part of Nortons with it - Uninstalled Nortons 360 (including registry entries) - but alas disk defrag schedule does not work.

I am assuming that Nortons or some other application changed the registry or vista settings - any one have advice on how to correct this (other than a cean hard disk re-install)?

Above is the uninstall tool for norton 360, and its remnants.
Try it, but we all know how hard it is to get norton off!
