When I run a 3rd party test it says I need to defrag my hard drive. When I
run defrag in Vista it ALWAYS, no mater when, says: Defragmenter is already
running.
How can I defrag my computer?

Thanks, Todd

Hi Todd,
You may have the schedule set for Disk Defragmenter. This tutorial
will show you how you can turn it off or adjust the schedule.
To make sure Disk Defragmenter is not running at the moment, open Task
Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE) and click on "dfrfui.exe" to highlight it
and click "End Process". Click "End Process" again to confirm it and
shut it down.
Hope this helps,
Shawn

Defrag runs as a behind-the-scenes, low priority service in Vista. You don't
need to do anything to defrag, it occurs automatically when the system is
not in use.
