chipset driver issue or Vista?
In my last MS Updates, there was an updated driver for my laptop chipset
family (Intel T5500 series). Since installing it and several more Microsoft
specific updates, I have had an odd problem. I suspect the Intel driver, as
I had icon issues before and that was related. Anyway, ideas?
Laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A205-S4629. Vista Ultimate, 32 bit, dual Intel
5500T chipset, 1.67 GH, 2+ Gig ram.
I have two users set up on this laptop. Since the updates, the administrator
one is just fine, the other user one is having issues. Specifically, when
this user starts up, the icons blank out, then the screen blackens, then
comes back, and the icons blank out again. It takes about 1 1/2 minutes
before all is restored and I can do anything. But this only happens one the
one user! Would this mean it is a Vista issue rather than the chipset
driver? And if so, what?
Thanks for any ideas.

RE: chipset driver issue or Vista?
Hello Pamela,
I have intel drivers installed on my system, I updated them and my screen
flickered black aswell. Apparently it is not the drivers problem that is
causing this, Click this link, scroll to the bottom to and click that link.
This is the thread I posted yesterday about similar issues, all is resolved
now. Tell me if this trick works for you too!
