I said this in one of my posts already, but....:
Suggest that in the future Vista adds some sort of subroutine for when a
person changes a drive letter on their hard disk partitions that the WSearch
HKEY entry below is updated, more specifically the DataDirectory entry under
Windows Search.....

Indexing should at least query if the user wishes to put it on a flash
driver (I did not, which my F:\ drive had become because I'd moved my old F:\
to B:\ and left F:\ open for a USB 2G flash); Indexing should pay attention
to drive letter changes (apparently Vista was looking to see if I'd disabled
my floppies in my bios?) and at least provide a graceful way of reassigning
where to put the index if it fails to find the correct path!
