Adding Vista Ultimate to Active Directory Domain (Server 2003)

I am attempting to add my new laptop to our domain. I can connect to the
internet no problem, ping the server by IP address and DNS name. I keep
receiving an error that states" The following error has occurred attempting
to join the domain "Our Domain Name": The network path was not found. I have
all neccessary permissions to add computers to the domain and I just added
another XP Pro machine to the AD with no problems. I have worked on this for
4 hours now with no success. I now have to ask the pros.

Adding a computer running Windows XP / Vista involves adjusting the name
resolution infrastructure. Name resolution on a domain, that's critical to
contacting the domain controller, is different from a peer-peer workgroup.

Look at "ipconfig /all" on the problem laptop, and on the existing computers.

I don't know if this applies, but I had the same problem--couldn't get
Vista to join a Server 2003 domain. Problem was very simple, but very
stupid. I had unchecked (disabled) IPv6 on the interface adapter. I
searched and searched, but couldn't find a definitive answer, but gather
enough general info to try one thing: re-enabling IPv6. Now I don't even
have IPv6 running on my 2003 server, but enabling it on my network
adapter immediately corrected the problem and I was able to join the
domain...very strange.
